R&D assistant – join us to save the world from plastic waste (EXPIRED)

Now, we are looking for a Master’s or Engineering student, who wants to work halftime during the studies and gain expertise in biomaterials as our R&D assistant.

Job description

Your key responsibility is to conduct and report basic laboratory analysis such as:

  • Material stability in climate chamber/ovens
  • Mechanical testing
  • Compatibility testing with different cosmetics
  • Composting testing

 

Your responsibilities will also include sending samples to external partners and assist in R&D work in general.

 

The position is ~20h/w and fixed term until the end of March 2022.

 

What we believe makes a strong candidate

We are looking for a preferably 2nd-5th year university student majoring in chemistry, polymer chemistry, material science, biomaterials, plastics, or in another relevant field.

A successful candidate has a strong interest in working towards a more sustainable world, and is not afraid of practical hands-on work. You are well organized, social, and self-initiative employee, who has a positive can-do attitude. Good problem-solving skills alongside with willingness to take actions independently are necessary to thrive in this position.

You are fluent in English since that is our official documentation language. Finnish is appreciated, but not mandatory. You should not have fragrance hypersensitivity or similar conditions since some of the testing products are perfumes. We appreciate a desire for continuous improvement, and we will support your development towards a biomaterial professional.
