Open position: Manufacturing Development Lead (EXPIRED)

Job description

Your key responsibility is to lead the compounding processes, equipment, and tooling design optimization, development, improvement, and validation in order to meet large scale manufacturability requirements for new and existing recipes.

You are going be in charge of the transition of new material recipes into production and will be driving process optimization throughout the manufacturing process as well as partner with our R&D team in feasibility projects by providing operational and technological support.

In this role you will also work with our vendors to improve manufacturing efficiency by applying Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methods as well as implement continuous product improvements aimed at improving reliability, manufacturability, yield, cost, as dictated by customer or business needs and requests.

You will be working with all internal functions and external partners to identify trends and process gaps and suggest and assist in the implementation of corrective actions and process improvements so to improve the overall cost, quality, safety, and delivery of products.

 

What we believe makes a strong candidate

To succeed in this position, you need to have a Materials Science, Chemistry or Engineering background, as well as 3+ years of plastics compounding experience in a lean manufacturing environment, driving the technological transfer of new products and supporting the maximization of overall efficiencies for the compounding operation.

You have experience in developing new and improved engineering processes and have working knowledge of core engineering practices and tools like Design for Excellence, SixSigma, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, etc. Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification is a great plus.

You have proven ability to effectively operate within a team composed of contract manufacturers and third-party vendors. You are familiar with GMP and ISO9001 and some understanding of food contact or experience in food, beverage, and/or cosmetic industry is beneficial.

Working and practical knowledge or ERP and BOM creation and manipulation as well as standard costing and cost accounting fundamentals are preferred.

You are a proven problem solver with demonstrated advanced project management expertise, multitasking skill and ability to prioritize tasks to align with the organizational goals. You have excellent written and spoken English and are looking for some travel (domestically and internationally).
